About the director
Mlungisi Mhlanga, is a writer / director hailing Ladysmith Kwa-Zulu Natal. His journey began with the short film A Better Way to Die, which he wrote and directed, premiering on BET in October 2021. His debut film a romcom, “Lottery Love,” is highly anticipated and set for release in 2024.
With a decade of experience in the industry, Mhlanga holds a B.A. Honours degree in Film Production from the University of Cape Town. His diverse background spans across corporate video production, advertising, and news, showcasing his versatile skills in videography, editing, and audio. Mhlanga’s talent extends to television, where his writing earned him the prestigious Best Sitcom Spec Script Award from the Muse Awards. Mhlanga’s writing is deeply rooted in his life experience and he is currently in development with a series set in Ladysmith titled Sunnyside of Ladysmith.
